McDonald's has announced the official return of Pokémon toys in its Happy Meal collection in Japan. This time, the collection features Captain Pikachu and three Generation 9 starter Pokémon — Fuecoco, Sprigatito, and Quaxly — as well as Terapagos, a Legendary introduced in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet's The Indigo Disk expansion.
As shown below, the toy collection includes eight items, mostly themed around summer and outdoor nature, such as a water wheel, watering can, and shovel set. The items will be released in two batches, with the first batch hitting McDonald's stores nationwide in Japan from August 8 to 15, and the second batch taking place the following week, from August 16 to 22. The third batch will finally hit stores on August 23, although this batch will not introduce any new toys, but instead sell off all remaining items from the previous two weeks (provided they're still in stock).

McDonald's is certainly no stranger to collaborating with major Japanese brands and anime, manga and gaming franchises; the previous Happy Meal Pokémon toy collection was revealed in February 2024, with the popular fast food chain also releasing collectibles focusing on Yu-Gi-Oh, Sanrio's Hello Kitty and Friends, San-X's Rilakkuma and more. Most recently in the United States, McDonald's revealed a Jujutsu Kaisen-themed garlic sauce in July, with a lineup that included Yuji Itadori, Satoru Gojo, Nobara Kugisaki, Megumi Fushiguro, Kento Nanami, Ryomen Sukuna, Suguru Geto and Mahito.
There is currently no confirmation whether the new Japanese Pokémon Happy Meal toys will be released in the United States.
