Mashle Season 2’s release date is fast approaching, with new images, trailers, and additional cast information recently revealed.
Aniplex’s official YouTube channel has released the teaser trailer for Mashle Season 2, previewing the upcoming “Divine Vision Selection Exam” and introducing the Divine Visions themselves. These characters are voiced by Junichi Suwabe as Ryoh Grantz, Yuki Ono as Orter Madl, Nobunaga Shimazaki as Kaldo Gehenna, Kisho Taniyama as Renatus Revol, Tomori Kusunoki as Tsurara Halestone and Saori Hayami as Sophina Biblia. The opening theme song for Mashle Season 2 was also announced by Creepy Nuts as “Bling-Bang-Bang-Born”. Fans of the anime Call of the Night will remember Creepy Nuts for its addictive ending song, also titled “Call of the Night,” and may be surprised that the manga is named after the song. A-1 Pictures (My New Boss Is Goofy) will animate Mashle Season 2. Tomoya Tanaka continues to direct, with Yosuke Kuroda writing and music by Masaru Yokoyama.
The “Divine Vision Selection Exam” arc is adapted from Chapters 44 to 74 of the original manga by Hajime Komoto. The manga began serialization in January 2020 and ended on July 2, 2023, after 18 volumes. Volume 18 was released on October 4. Mashle has been praised by audiences for his subversive nature of the main character, with humor remaining constant throughout the series as highlighted in reviews of CBR’s own Mashle.
Crunchyroll streams the first season of the Mashle anime and describes the show as follows: “This is a magical world. This is a world where magic is used by people by chance. In a deep, dark forest of this magical world, there is a boy who is concentrating all his strength. His name is Mash Burnedead, and he has a secret. He cannot use magic. All he wants is to live a quiet life with his family, but people suddenly start trying to kill him. One day, he somehow finds himself enrolled in the Magic School. There, he aims to become a ‘Divine Visionary’, the elite of the elite. Can his toned muscles hold their own against the best and brightest in the wizarding world? The curtain rises on this strange magical illusion, in which aroused power can crush any magic!”
Mashle Season 2 will premiere in January 2024.
