Yu Sasuga and Kenichi Tachibana's Terra Formars manga will return after a more than five-year hiatus in April 2024. The announcement was made on March 28, with the series returning in issue #18 of Weekly magazine Shueisha's Young Jump, to be released on April 4. The manga has been on hiatus since December 2018 due to author Yu Sasuga's health problems.
To celebrate the return of the series, all chapters of the Terra Formars manga will be available for free for a limited time on the Young Jump manga app from March 28 to April 24. Additionally, a promotional video celebrating the return of the series has been released. on Young Jump Manga's official YouTube channel.
The manga initially began serialization in January 2011 in Shueisha's Miracle Jump magazine and then moved to Weekly Young Jump in 2012. The manga has published 22 volumes and total sales exceed 22 million copies. It was also adapted into a television anime in 2014, with another season released in 2016. It got a live action film in 2016. Crunchyroll aired the anime and they describe the story: When As the Earth became more and more overpopulated, an ambitious plan was implemented. put into place to terraform Mars using mold and cockroaches. This is not the first time the Terra Formars manga has been on hiatus due to the author's health issues, another extended hiatus occurred from March 2017 to April 2018.
