The series will premiere on TV Tokyo on June 25
TV Tokyo announced on Sunday that Rasuko Ōkuma’s Stardust Telepath (Hoshikuzu Telepath) manga is inspiring a live-action television series starring members of idol group AKB48. The weekly half-hour series will premiere on TV Tokyo on June 25. TV Tokyo and Dub agency staff will hold auditions to choose which members of AKB48 will appear on the show.

The story is about a shy girl named Umika. afraid of talking to others and having difficulty making friends. One day, a transfer student named Yū appears. Turns out, she’s a (self-proclaimed) alien who can read other people’s emotions by touching their foreheads.

The manga also inspired an anime premiering on October 9, 2023.
The four-panel manga debuted in Houbunsha’s Manga Time Kirara magazine in May 2019 and began serialization that July. Houbunsha published the manga’s fourth compilation volume on September 27.
The series was nominated for Best Printed Manga in the seventh “Next Manga Awards” (Tsugi ni Kuru Manga Taishō) in 2021.
