A new visual of the “losing heroine” has been released for the currently airing Makeine: Too Many Losing Heroines! TV anime series, highlighting the friendship between Lemon Yakishio and Chihaya Asagumo. The anime first aired in Japan on July 14, 2024 and will run for 12 episodes.

Shotaro Kitamura (Overtake! Volume 4 and Shaman King Flowers Volume 5, artist and storyboard director) will direct the anime, with Masahiro Yokotani (Ohmuro-ke: Dear Sisters) as series writer, Tetsuya Kawakami (86 Eighty-Six) as character designer, Yuu Saito (Warlords of Sigrdrifa Volume 4 animation character designer) as supporting character designer, Ayaka Murakami (Sword Art Online-Progressive-Scherzo of Deep Night) as colorist, Yuuki Hatakeyama (The Tunnel to Summer, the Exit of Goodbyes) as art director, Yohei Miyawaki (Fate／strange Fake Whispers of Dawn) as chief composition officer, and Kana Utatane (Overtake!) composing the music. A-1 Pictures is handling animation production.
Miura Takumitsu, Akane Takeda, and Mirai Kawashima (Kaguya-sama: Love is War-Ultra Romantic in-between animation checker) are serving as key animators on the series.
Meanwhile, the anime's main voice cast includes:

The anime is based on the romantic comedy light novel series, written by Takibi Amamori and illustrated by Imigimuru. It was first published by Gagaga Bunko on July 21, 2021, and has released seven volumes as of July 2024, along with a short story collection. The series won the Gagaga Award at the 15th Shogakukan Light Novel Taisho event.
The light novel also inspired a manga adaptation of Itachi, which has been serialized on Shogakukan's Ura Sunday website and MangaONE app since April 29, 2022. Three tankōbon volumes have been released as of July 2024. Seven Seas Entertainment has licensed the Too Many Loss Heroines! light novel and the manga is being released in English.
