A new key visual has been released for the upcoming television anime The Magical Girl and the Evil Lieutenant, which will premiere in Japan in 15-minute episodes starting July 9, 2024.

Akiyo Ohashi (The Stranger by the Shore) is directing the anime adaptation, with Yuniko Ayana (BanG Dream! It's MyGO!!!!!) serving as series writer and scriptwriter, Haruko Iizuka (Horimiya, Josee, the Tiger and the Fish) as character designer, Nobuhiro Arai (Bungo Stray Dogs) as assistant character designer, Yumiko Kuga (Deaimon) and Takumi Onitani as art directors, Yukari Goto (Bungo Stray Dogs) as color designer, Tsuyoshi Kanbayashi (Bungo Stray Dogs, Josee, the Tiger and the Fish) as chief composition officer, and MAYUKO (Ranking of Kings) as composer. Bones is in charge of animation production.
Meanwhile, the main voice cast includes:
• Yuki Ono as Mira • Mai Nakahara as Byakuya Mimori • Shinichiro Miki as Mitsukai (cat) • Mariya Ise as Hibana Kagari • Hikaru Midorikawa as Mitsukai (bird)
The anime is based on the 4-koma manga by the late Cocoa Fujiwara (Inu x Boku SS), which was serialized in Enix's Square Gangan Joker from September 21, 2013 to March 20, 2015. It has been collected into three tankōbon volumes in total. Yen Press releases the manga in English in North America.
