Hawai’i is the original paradise on Earth. Crystal clear water, powdery white sand, active volcanoes, great sport fishing and lush tropical forests. A place so mysterious that it seems to defy belief. How can words describe the splendor of a place that counts spam as part of its fine dining? It is a beckoning place, an enchanting place. A state so engraved into your soul that you completely forget it’s not there. Hawaii is the place to be, and those aren’t the words of a junior Anime Corner writer. Those are the words of Chisato Nishikigi of Lycoris Recoil. And with a collaboration between cafe and eatery Lycoris Recoil Hawaii, you can also sample some Hawaiian dishes (minus Spam).
From February 3 to March 20, Shibuya, Shinsaibashi and Nagoya PARCO locations will have the Hawaiian version of Cafe LycoReco menu. Coffee shop patrons will be randomly given a restaurant-specific coaster (9 designs available). All cafe locations will also include a store selling a variety of items that can also be purchased through the online PARCO store. These products include acrylic holders, stickers, trading cards, pewter badges, charms, mugs, bags, life-sized rugs (online store only), floor mats, and towel.
Items will range from as little as ¥330 (~2.25 USD) for a trading card to ¥11,500 (~78 USD) for a full-sized rug. All goods are limited in quantity so there is a limit to how many customers can purchase. The menu, in addition to being based on the original LycoRyco Cafe menu, will include a touch of Hawaiian style. Customers who visit the Lycoris Recoil Hawaiian cafe and eatery can sample tropical drinks, Hawaiian-influenced main dishes as well as anime-style desserts and hot drinks. Customers who purchase Novelty Cafe Reservation Tickets will have priority in seating and drinks. Buying this product also includes a commemorative ticket.
The A-1 Pictures’ original animated Lycoris Recoil aired from July 2 to September 24, 2022. A fan favorite, the show has inspired several collaborations, a spin-off manga and future sequel. The series is available to stream via Crunchyroll, Aniplus Aisa, Aniplus TV, Bilibii and Bahamut Anime Crazy. revolves around the lives of Chisato Nishikigi and Takina Inoue, both members of Direct Attack – an organization that raises orphans and trains them to become assassins to fight terrorist organizations under the Lycoris Program.
Takina, a Lycoris talent transferred to Cafe LycoReco after a failed assassination attempt. There, she meets the famous Lycoris Chisato Nishikigi but is taken aback by who she meets. Instead of a cold, efficient killer, she meets an aloof girl who refuses to take lives and instead focuses on solving problems in non-lethal ways.
