Kanna Hirayama, a character designer working on the TV anime adaptation of Oshi no Ko, is illustrating the female leads of Lycoris Recoil for an upcoming merchandise collection.
According to AniTrendz, Hirayama will help design award merchandise based on the Lycoris Recoil anime series for Ichiban Kuji. Ichiban Kuji, operated by sales brand Banpresto, is a lottery system held at Japanese retailers. The Lycoris Recoil Lottery will feature multiple prizes for participating customers, two of which feature special illustrations by artist Oshi no Ko.

Prize A is a 66 cm high hanging poster art by Chisato Nishikigi, while Prize B is a similar poster art by Takina Inoue. “Well, it’s public. I drew Chisato and Takina for the AB here,” said Hirayama. “When I selfishly asked Yumiko Yamamoto to supervise, she let me in (the fan). Thank you for perfecting the colors and taking great pictures. It’s fun to draw the shadow of the hair and clothes~ Get it!” Yumiko Yamamoto is the animation director and supporting character designer for Lycoris Recoil.
In addition to Chisato and Takina’s special character posters, the Lycoris Recoil lottery will feature illustrated boards, acrylic stands, mini shikishi and acrylic charms from the cast. Two of the acrylic stands use Hirayama’s illustrations of Chisato and Takina. The Ichiban Kuji Lycoris Recoil Lottery will start on June 3 in Japan.

Lycoris Recoil is a 2022 anime television series praised for its stunning animation. It is based on the manga by Yasunori Bizen. This is a “gun girls” action series that follows the turbulent adventures of Chisato and Takina, two orphaned agents working for an all-female government task force called the Lycoris.
