In the latest behind-the-scenes video of Flip 7, Ly Hai revealed the process of choosing My Tan as the location for filming the Tu Hau family story. Ly Hai shared: “My crew and I went to many beautiful beaches in the Central region and finally chose My Tan fishing port. In the early mornings when the sun has not yet risen, people come to the market in large numbers. The scene is very joyful and exciting”.
The team also revealed that this is one of the most expensive and complex investment scenarios. To create the image of a bustling fish scene, Ly Hai mobilized 100 boats, ready to “spend heavily” to serve the scene. In the video, there is a scene of the village after the storm passed. The destruction of the fishing port was carefully rebuilt by the crew, with the enthusiastic support of the people.
It doesn't stop there, team Flip 7 even entering one of the most “turbulent” and arduous segments of the film. That was when Tu Hau (Quach Ngoc Tuyen) and his crew struggled with the storm at sea. The crew spent a long night right on New Year's Eve, transitioning to the new year 2024 to film. Not to mention, the video also shows scenes of Tu Hau's ship crossing the ocean shot with a green screen. Details of the water splashed on the ship like a storm were actually water sprayed by the crew from the shore.
Ly Hai hired 100 boats to film stormy sea scenes
But for the offshore scenes, Ly Hai's crew drove the ship out to the middle of the ocean to get the most realistic footage for the audience. “It seemed very simple but it was very difficult, because most of the crew were not used to traveling by train, so they vomited a lot.”, Ly Hai said.
In addition to the sea scenes, the crew Flip 7 also recreates the festival scene at Lang Than Nam Hai. Ly Hai researched meticulously and personally and with his crew recreated the festival down to every detail. Regarding the performance, Ly Hai asked a troupe team from Quy Nhon to fly in to perform the scene. With Ly Hai's good wishes, he brought the festival culture at Lang Than Nam Hai to resonate with traditional opera music into the film.
In addition, to create a bustling, crowded atmosphere for the festival, the crew mobilized people from all over the village to come watch, anyone there can attend.
Contributing to the success of the Tu Hau house segment, Ly Hai sent his sincere thanks to the people of My Tan. Thousands of people helped the crew in many difficult scenes, at the same time being extremely hospitable, sweet, and enthusiastic in helping the scene to be the most excellent and meaningful.
Flip 7: One Wish classified as a K movie, (a movie made available to viewers under 13 years of age provided they are watched with a parent or guardian). The project is directed by Ly Hai himself as director, screenwriter, producer and editor. The film is scheduled to premiere on April 26.
