Ryubi Miyase (live-action Ushijima the Loan Shark, Ya Boy Kongming!, pictured above) plays Akira Ohmi, while Nanoka Hara (name of female lead Suzume, live-action Wave, Listen to Me!, Don’t Call It Mystery, left) plays Eriko Ichimura. The two previously co-starred in the live-action dramas Night Doctor and Murai in Love.
Miki Kōichirō (live-action 2020 Yowamushi Pedal) will direct the film, with a script by Satoko Okazaki.
Kodansha USA Publishing published the manga digitally in English and describes the story:
Eriko Ichimura spent her high school days completely in the dark. Her only hobbies are staring at the handsome, smooth-talking Akira”Omi-kun”Ohmi and tweeting her daily fantasies under the screen name “Lovesick @Ellie”. One fateful day, she accidentally witnesses Omi-kun’s true self—and if that’s not enough, he also sees her embarrassing Twitter! Follow a simple, perverted girl, a two-faced boy, and their strange romance!
Fujimomo launched the manga in Kodansha’s Dessert magazine in July 2015 and ended it in May 2020. Kodansha published the manga’s 12th and final compiled book volume in October 2020. Kodansha USA published the manga’s 12th compiled book volume on October 3. The manga was nominated for Best Shōjo Manga in the 42nd Kodansha Manga Awards 2018.
