The first film in the final trilogy opens September 6.
The official YouTube channel for Love Live! began streaming the first trailer for Love Live! on Wednesday. Nijigasaki High School Idol Club (Love Live! Nijigasaki Gakuen School Idol Dōkōkai Kanketsu-hen) is the new anime film trilogy for the franchise. The video previews the characters' dance scenes.

The first film in the trilogy will hit theaters on September 6. The trilogy will serve as a conclusion to the anime's story.
The trilogy is set after the previous two television seasons and the Love Live! Nijigasaki Next Sky High School Idol Club original video anime project. The main cast and staff will return for the trilogy.
The anime takes place after Isla returns to her hometown. The club receives an invitation to participate in the “School Idol GPX” competition. Contestants compete individually rather than by school, and compete through performances delivered via an app. The six club members—Ayumu, Kasumi, Shizuku, Kanata, Emma, and Lanzhu—travel to Okinawa to compete. However, while many of them experience new encounters, Ayumu has complicated feelings about competing with her fellow club members.
The first season of the Love Live! Anime Nijigasaki High School Idol Club premiered on the Tokyo MX channel as well as on the Bandai Channel, Line Live, and YouTube Live streaming services in October 2020. The second season premiered in April 2023. Crunchyroll streamed the anime as it aired in Japan, and later streamed the English dub.
Nijiyon Animation, a short-lived television anime based on Miyakohito's four-panel spin-off manga Nijiyon ~Love Live! Nijigasaki Gakuen School Idol Dōkōkai Yon-Koma, got a second season that premiered on April 5.
The franchise staff introduced members of the Nijigasaki Academy Idol Appreciation Club in 2017 as part of KLab Games and Bushiroad's Love Live! School Idol Festival smartphone game “Perfect Dream Project” (PDP).
