KItamura plays the prison warden
The official X (formerly Twitter) account for the live-action adaptation of Satoru Noda's Golden Kamuy manga announced on Saturday that Kazuki Kitamura will join the cast of the live-action series Golden Kamuy-Hokkaido Irezumi Shūjin Sōdatsu-hen-(Golden Kamuy: Battle for the Hokkaido Tattoo Prisoner).
Kitamura plays Inudō, the warden of Abashiri Prison who has a personal grudge against Toshizō Hijikata.

The nine-episode series will premiere on WOWOW on October 6 at 10 p.m. JST. The series will feature the cast and staff from the manga's recent live-action film, and it will continue the film's story.
Kenji Katagiri, Ken Ochiai, and Yōsuke Satō join the film's director Shigeaki Kubo to direct the film. Similarly, Yoshiaki Dewa will join the film's composer Yutaka Yamada for the film.
The series will have a different theme song artist for each episode.
The film opened in Japan on January 19 and topped the Japanese box office in its opening weekend. The film sold 356,000 tickets for 533,848,690 yen (approximately US$3.62 million) in its first three days of release.
Shigeaki Kubo directs the film at the production company CREDEUS. Tsutomu Kuroiwa writes the script. Yutaka Yamada composes the music. Hiroshi Nakagawa and Debo Akibe are assigned to supervise Ainu.
Satoru Noda launched the manga in Shueisha's Young Jump magazine in 2014 and ended it in April 2022. The manga has inspired four anime seasons, and production on a final anime season has been green-lit.
