The production team for the television anime based on children’s animated YouTube channel Kumarba revealed on Saturday that the anime will premiere on TV Tokyo and other channels on April 6. The anime will air during the show eeny meeny Miney mo airs on Saturdays starting at 7:00 am
The cast from the YouTube channel will reprise their roles from the anime, including Fairouz Ai as Kumarba, Mai Satō as Tabris, Honoka Inoue as Nekorun, and Picchorina as Bagurin.
Shōichirō Hiwatashi, representative director of Kumarba Inc., is the director and producer of the television anime, and is also credited for the original work. Creative House Pocket is producing the animation. Kōki Hashimoto (Bōken Tairiku Ania Kingdom episode script, A Galaxy Next Door) is writing and supervising the series’ script. Kotaro Sakamoto was appointed as script coordinator. Chika Sekine is the creative director. Yuka Kawashima is credited with the motion capture. Rei Yanagisawa is a production assistant. Mikirō Tsuchimoto is the marketing producer.
YouTube channel Kumarba launched in 2019 and focuses on the adventures of video-loving 5-year-old bear Kumarba and his friend, the squirrel-themed tablet Tabris. Kumarba is joined by his friend Nekorun and the Bagurin virus that lives on the Internet. The anime will be an “action comedy” in which Kumarba and Tabris face off against Bagurin, who is wreaking havoc in the online world.
