After many years, Oda-sensei finally mentioned the tragic event that was foretold in the series, the God Valley incident. What’s surprising is that Kuma’s involvement in that tragic event made him what he is today.
Below is the spoiler for One Piece chapter 1099″
One Piece chapter 1099 will be titled “Pacifist”. The new chapter begins with the story continuing the scene from the end of chapter 1098. King Bekori captured the king of the Kingdom of Goa, burning down villages and killing those who resisted.
Faced with that situation, Kuma stood up, destroyed the palace and defeated King Bekori. According to the people’s request, he became the new king of the Sorbet kingdom. However, the one who really runs the kingdom is King Bulldog, and Kuma still lives at the church.
Following these events, Bonney accidentally ate the Toshi Toshi no Mi fruit, which allowed her to manipulate the age of herself and others.
While everyone was assured of King Bekori’s death, it was revealed that he had survived and had escaped. Bekori was the one who spread rumors about Kuma and called him “Tyrant”. Therefore, the navy will lend Bekori military force to take back the Sorbet kingdom.
Bekori attacked again, but Kuma handled it all alone and then fled to the sea, becoming a pirate. Kuma has a very high bounty thanks to his incredible strength. Bonney lives under Conney’s care in the castle in the Sorbet kingdom.
During this time, Kuma traveled all over the world, visiting all the islands to find a way to cure Bonney’s illness. Finally, Kuma met Dragon and the revolutionary army commanders again on the ship “Wind Granma” in the middle of the sea. Dragon told Kuma about how Ivankov and Inazuma were both captured by the navy and thrown into prison.
Dragon also talked to Kuma about Vegapunk and revealed the doctor’s location to him, which was Egghead Island. Kuma thanked Dragon for the information and said he wanted to fight side by side with Luffy’s father again if he cured Bonney’s illness.
After that, Kuma returned to the Sorbet kingdom, picked up Bonney and put her in a box, heading to Egghead Island. They meet Vegapunk and Kuma to talk about their adopted daughter’s illness.
Vegapunk tests Kuma’s blood and is shocked to discover he is a Buccaneer. The doctor told Kuma that if he agreed to become the model for the clone army he planned to create, Bonney would receive free treatment. Kuma accepted the trade, he became the prototype for the Pacafista project, also known as the Clone Trooper project.
The project was named “Pacafista” because Kuma called himself a “Pacifista”, written in Japanese as Pacifista.
At the same time in Mary Geoise, Saint Saturn was listening to Kuma and Vegapunk’s entire conversation and said: “That Vegapunk doesn’t know how to take advantage of this opportunity at all. I have another idea…”
This chapter promises to be a rich and complex addition to One Piece’s storyline, bringing back old characters, introducing new dynamics, and setting the stage for future revelations and conflicts. Politics, betrayal, and ever-changing alliances continue to be central themes, keeping readers on the edge of their seats as we approach chapter 1100.
Next week without a break, there will be a new chapter.
