The Cotton Anime Association (CAS), part of the Department of Mass Communication, Journalism and Media Studies at Cotton University, held its third annual cosplay and anime festival, Kotton Kon 3.0, on April 21 2024, attracting more than 2,000 attendees, a record number for the event.
The day was filled with diverse activities, including an anime music video (AMV) showcase, a cosplay contest and performances by DJ Rinx Neon and Assamese singer Yaman.
The festival also offers a marketplace for vendors selling anime merchandise, art, and collectibles. Attendees can enjoy refreshing drinks at Maid Cafe's collaboration with Cafe Noi and participate in a caricature drawing contest.
The awards ceremony recognized outstanding cosplay works in categories including Best Ghibli Cosplay, Best Debut Cosplay, Best Performance, Best Costume, Best Overall Cosplay, Maid The most beautiful and The most beautiful caricature. Winners include None (Best Ghibli Cosplay), Cao (Best Debut Cosplay), Priscilla (Best Performance), Red Radish and Team (Best Costume), Sinung and Team ( Best Overall Cosplay), Oshin (Best Maid) and Durlov (Best Caricature).
Fireworks show ends the festival.

This year, Kotton Kon crossed a festival; it has become a dazzling tapestry woven by the energy of our cosplayers, the dedication of our performers, and the unwavering support of our sponsors and community. We celebrate this incredible spirit of Kotton Kon and look forward to building an even bigger and better event in the years to come,” he added
Kotton Kon is an annual anime convention organized by the Cotton Anime Society. Over the years, annual anime conventions have become increasingly popular, attracting a large and diverse audience. This is considered one of the biggest and most successful anime events held in Guwahati, Assam. The event brings together anime fans from across Guwahati, as well as from neighboring cities/states.

Cotton Anime Society was established in 2021 under the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication Studies, Cotton University. It is a community of enthusiasts who share a passion for animation and Japanese culture. The association provides a platform for like-minded individuals to come together, discuss and appreciate anime, and enjoy various anime-related activities.
