An upcoming language learning book from Kodansha will let readers learn English sentences with the female protagonists from The Quintessential Quintuplets by Negi Haruba.
The book is titled The Quintessential Quintuplets: How Do You Say It in English? and will hit Japanese bookstores on August 22nd JST. The book features a variety of scenarios, each with quotes from all five Nakano sisters. The goal is to allow readers to explore more than one potential answer while also appreciating the diverse personalities of the characters.
Fill-in-the-blank questions and a “famous quote quiz” section will also be included, and English voices can be heard for free on a special website.
The Quintessential Quintuplets manga series began serialization in Kodansha's Weekly Shonen Magazine in 2017 and ended in 2020 with 14 tankōbon volumes. The romantic comedy inspired two television anime seasons, an anime film, and a two-part 2023 television anime special titled The Quintessential Quintuplets~. A new television anime, The Quintessential Quintuplets*, was announced in July and will have a three-week theatrical run in Japan starting September 20 JST.
Kodansha USA describes the manga as follows:
Five girls who want nothing more than to study and their tutor: a high school boy who is very smart about books and nothing else. Futaro Uesugi takes the tutoring job because he is in dire need of money, but when his students—the five beautiful daughters of a wealthy businessman—find five times as many reasons to be lazy, what can he do?! At this rate, the two sisters won't graduate so if he wants to get paid, Futaro has to come up with a plan that suits each of them… It feels hopeless when five out of five of them think he's a loser!
