Kimi ni Todoke: From Me to You Season 3 – First Anime Trailer
Mamiko Noto and Daisuke Namikawa will reprise their roles as main duo Sawako Kuronuma and Shota Kazehaya. The anime revealed a special recap video for the first two seasons on December 30, which is celebrated as Sawako's birthday.
Karuho Shiina wrote and illustrated the manga Kimi ni Todoke: From Me to You. It was published by Shueisha in Bessatsu Margaret from 2005 to 2017 and compiled into 30 volumes. Both previous anime seasons were also produced by Production IG. The first season ran for 25 episodes from fall 2009 to winter 2010, while the second season ran for 12 episodes in winter 2011. A live action series was released in 2010 starring Mikako Tabe and Haruma Miura, while a 12-episode live action series was released in 2010. It was released on Netflix in March this year.
Viz Media has licensed the manga in English and they describe the story:
Sawako Kuronuma is the perfect heroine…for a horror movie. With striking similarities to the haunting film character – jet black hair, sinister smile and silent demeanor – she is mistakenly called Sadako by those around her. But behind her scary exterior lies a very misunderstood teenager. Too shy to fit in, all she wants to do is make friends. But when the most popular boy in class befriends her, she's sure to make more than that – she's about to make some enemies, too!
