aNCHOR Launches Steam Page for Main Game, Will Launch Page for DLC at Future Date Image courtesy of developer aNCHORGame aNCHOR announced on Friday that it will release the “Enhanced Edition” of Age’s Kimi ga Nozomu Eien (KimNozo) on PC via Steam on October 17 (October 18 in Japan). The company has launched the Steam page for the main game and will launch a page for the DLC at a future date.
The release will feature a new user interface along with additional content for all campaign expansion goals.
aNCHOR launched a crowdfunding campaign for the “redevelopment project” for Kimi ga Nozomu Eien on October 27 last year and reached its goal of 30,000,000 yen in a month.
The crowdfunding campaign ended on December 29, after raising a final total of 57,892,199 yen (approximately US$400,000), exceeding its 30,000,000 yen (approximately US$201,000) goal. The campaign reached all four of its stretch goals, meaning the release will include the main game, a fan disc, the “Kanashimi wa Kaze no Yō ni” story, the “Mabunozo” bonus scenario, Steam keys for the Muv-Luv and Muv-Luv Alternative games, and a digital booklet describing the characters and setting of the Muv-Luv spin-off “Operation Zero,” which features characters from Kimi ga Nozomu Eien.
Age released the adult visual novel Kimi ga Nozomu Eien in August 2001 for the PlayStation 2, Dreamcast, and PC. The company released an enhanced version of the game in 2008 titled Kimi ga Nozomu Eien ~Latest Edition~ which featured enhanced graphics, additional scenarios, and other improvements. Degica announced in 2016 that they would launch a Kickstarter for a remake of the game.
The game was adapted into a television anime in 2003. Funimation released the series on DVD under the English title Rumble Hearts. The series inspired the 2004 original video anime (OVA) Akane Maniax, the 2006 Ayumayu Theater web anime, and the 2007 Kimi ga Nozomu Eien ~Next Season~ OAV. Crunchyroll added the television anime in 2017, but the anime is no longer streaming on the service.
