Bandai Namco Entertainment producer Kazumasa Habu announced on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday in a series of tweets that he is no longer producing video games under the Digmon franchise. The producer revealed he moved on from his role as producer last April. He assured fans that the game was handled well.
Habu has been involved in Digimon gaming since 2010 and serves as Executive Producer of Digimon Survive, which launched in July 2022. The producer spoke to ANN ahead of the game’s development.
Habu revealed in an interview in December 2017 that a new Digimon Story game was in development for PS4. The latest game in the series, Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth-Hacker’s Memory, was released in Japan in December 2017 and in the West in January 2018. The game is available for PS4 and PlayStation Vita, but is developed for the PS Vita using the previous Digimon Story game Cyber Sleuth as a base.
Digimon World: Next Order launches on Nintendo Switch and PC (via Steam) in North America and Europe on February 22.
