Satoru Gojo’s voice actor doesn’t understand why Jujutsu Kaisen fans love his character.
A Jujutsu Kaisen news account named Myamura (or @king_jin_woo) recently highlighted Nakamura’s comments about Gojo’s following, which were mainly aimed directly at people who only watched the Jujutsu Kaisen anime. “I wonder why he’s so popular,” Nakamura mused. “When people say ‘I like Gojo. He’s great, he’s famous.’ Honestly, I don’t get it and it makes me think, ‘You’re calling a guy cool, who you really don’t know much about. Are you ok? lol.”
Gojo is a fan favorite character of Jujutsu Kaisen
There is little chance of denying Satoru Gojo’s status as a fan-favorite, as the gray-haired jujutsu sorcerer is a frequent theme in cosplay. One notable example includes a tribute by Redditor Niicosercos, which perfectly replicates Gojo’s black outfit, glasses, and piercing blue eyes. Another Gojo cosplayer, called Venture_Bros on Instagram, recreated a piece of promotional art with the character lifting part of his iconic blindfold. The character is also frequently featured in the Jujutsu Kaisen fanart, including a portrait helping Gojo in photorealistic makeup.
Gege Akutami’s Jujutsu Kaisen manga introduces a mentor character to the series’ protagonist, Yuji Itadori, who originally studied with him at Tokyo Metropolitan University of Arts and Sciences. As the plot continues to develop, the character takes on a more prominent role, becoming a key character in several major installments, including one dedicated to uncovering a major event in the series’ past. Gojo. The current installment of the series, Shinjuku Showdown, is about Gojo’s long-awaited return from the prison kingdom and the preparation of the jujutsu gangs to take down Sukuna, the ‘King of Curses’.
