Summary
Kenjaku would have been a fool if he hadn’t already planned Sukuna’s ultimate betrayal. Kenjaku may have a plan to deal with Sukuna by using his ability to transfer his brain into a dead body, which he can use on Gojo, who is still lying on the battlefield. Kenjaku took over the body of Gojo’s friend Suguru Geto and was capable of doing the same to Gojo’s body. This will give Kenjaku access to Gojo’s powerful cursed technique and make him even stronger.
As Ryomen Sukuna continued to cycle past Jujutsu Kaisen As the witches gather to fight him, his partner – Kenjaku – cannot help but think of the moment the unpredictable King of Curses will turn against him. While he certainly wants Sukuna to succeed in destroying most of the witches that stand in their way, Kenjaku certainly has a plan to deal with him when the time comes, and it could involve a terrible return. The horror of the deceased Gojo.
Seeing how powerful Sukuna in his true form had become, it was not wrong for Kenjaku to fear that Sukuna would eventually betray him. Indeed, the more successful he was in destroying the Jujutsu Kaisen wizarding community, the less Sukuna needed to keep Kenjaku around. However, Kenjaku is no fool. In fact, there is one important play he can make to ensure he remains first among his peers and the unchallenged leader in the new age of magic.
Kenjaku’s innate technique allows him to transfer his brain into a dead body, taking over it along with its abilities. He did it with Gojo’s old friend Suguru Geto, with whom he now lives. Theoretically, there was nothing stopping him from doing the same to Gojo’s body.
Kenjaku is able to take over Gojo’s body to kill Sukuna
Of course, after watching Sukuna take down Satoru Gojo and Hajime Koshimo, any attempt by Kenjaku to directly take down Sukuna seems easier said than done. But the reality is different. Kenjaku has existed for thousands of years using his cursed technique to take over the bodies of the dead. After Gojo killed Geto, Kenjaku implanted his brain into Geto’s skull before it was properly sealed and buried. As a result, he gained control of Geto’s body and more importantly his innate curse technique.
Gojo is now dead, his body has not yet been sealed and properly buried. As far as fans know, it is still on the battlefield. As the war between Sukuna and the other witches rages around it, Kenjaku has the perfect opportunity to steal Gojo’s body, then use his innate technique and implant his brain into his body. Gojo. Doing so would give Kenjaku access to Gojo’s Infinite technique, Six Eyes, and Domain Expansion, making him the strongest wizard of his age. Indeed, while Geto gives Kenjaku enough abilities to defeat the combined efforts of Yuki Tsukumo, Master Tengen, and Choso, gaining Gojo’s abilities would be a major power upgrade.
Kenjaku in Gojo’s body might have a better chance of defeating Sukuna than Gojo
Unfortunately for fans of the iconic Gojo, this also means he will return, but as a reanimated corpse with no will of his own. This will certainly be a heartbreaking development but also the most logical step for Kenjaku. While Gojo ultimately lost to Sukuna, a Kenjaku with Gojo’s power could do better than the original. After all, he witnessed Gojo nearly defeat Sukuna, who had to use Mahoraga to win – something Kenjaku commented on in the latest chapter, perhaps a fleeting foreshadowing. There are still quite a few Jujutsu mages waiting to face Sukuna, meaning with each battle, Kenjaku will learn more about his teammates’ tactics and weaknesses.
While it is possible that Sukuna will remain faithful to his agreement with Kenjaku, it is more likely that he will not. Nothing in Sukuna’s character suggests that he would indulge in anything other than his own will. Furthermore, while Kenjaku has proven reasonable, it seems strange that he hasn’t at least considered the possibility of Sukuna betraying him. If that’s the case, Gojo’s death would give him the perfect opportunity. Take over joyousKenjaku’s body would gain the upper hand against Sukuna, but it would also mark the terrifying return of one of the Jujutsu Kaisenmost famous character.
