Jujutsu Kaisen heralds the return of Nobara's cursed technique
Jujutsu Kaisen Fans Speculate on the Meaning of Sukuna's Remaining Finger
Chapter #266 of Jujutsu Kaisen is ambiguous, providing plenty of fodder for speculation and commentary. This violent chapter sees Yuji and Sukuna in full action, interspersed with dialogue between Yuji and Megumi's souls, trapped inside the bodies now occupied by Sukuna. However, among its most abstract hints is the final panel shows Sukuna's finger hanging at the end of a deep chasm.
This simple panel is almost overloaded with implications. The main implication is that Yuta had previously tricked Sukuna into believing that he had eaten the last of his cursed fingers. While on the one hand this means that Sukuna has not actually achieved the full power promised by regaining all twenty of his fingers, it also leaves a crucial breakthrough that led to Sukuna's defeat.
Yuta showed Sukuna that he could use his cursed technique Cleave, implying that he made Rika eat his remaining finger to copy it, but that may have been a trick, and Rika ate Yuji's finger instead (since he has the same cursed technique as Sukuna).
What role could Nobara play in the finals of Jujutsu Kaisen?
One of Nobara's best friends may bring her technique back to the battlefield.
Because of the position and vulnerability of the finger, it The main target for Nobara's Straw Doll and Resonance techniques. Since the finger can act as a part of Sukuna's avatar, and it also holds one-twentieth of his soul, it is certain that the finger provides a path forward and can be used to cause some serious damage to the most powerful witch in history. This intriguing possibility has led many to theorize that Nobara's return is imminent.
At the same time, this would undermine the gentle praise for Nobara that was only given in the previous chapters. However, there is still another way for Nobara to return. Objects associated with jujutsu practitioners can become vessels for their cursed techniques.. Nanami's blade returned as a cursed tool imbued with Ratio that played a key role in Ino's attack against Sukuna in chapter #246. In turn, it also gave a second life to one of Jujutsu Kaisen's finest techniques.
A similar event could also bring Nobara's techniques back into play.even if not used by Nobara. Therefore, a skilled Cursed Tool user could make Jujutsu Kaisen's most divisive death worthwhile. Maki Zenin fits the bill perfectly, having an established relationship with Nobara and still alive despite receiving a Black Flash from Sukuna in chapter #253. While Nobara's death is almost certainly final, Maki's timely appearance using her techniques could turn the tables on Sukuna in Jujutsu KaisenThe final is risky.
