Jujutsu Kaisen will screen episodes 41–44 in Japanese theaters for one week starting March 29. Episodes 17, 18, 19, and 20 of the second season of the anime television adaptation are one part of the Shibuya Incident section. During this special event, fans will be treated to a Blu-ray/DVD version of episode 17 (for a total of 41), titled “Thunderclap, Part 2,” which will feature new cuts and footage captured Editing is different from the TV version.
Episode 17 of Jujutsu Kaisen Part 2 (or 41 overall) will be included in the sixth Blu-ray/DVD volume. The release date is March 20 and the cover features Toji Fushiguro. The remaining three episodes will be in the seventh volume, scheduled to premiere on April 17. Studio MAPPA animated the film adaptation, and the second season was directed by Shota Goshozono.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 ended airing last December, after 23 episodes. Five of them are part of the Hidden Treasures/Early Death arc, which recently scored 11 wins at the 2024 Crunchyroll Anime Awards), while the remaining 18 are Shibuya Incident arcs. Jujutsu Kaisen is based on a manga by Gege Akutami that is currently serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. The manga launched on March 5, 2018 and has since become one of the most popular shounen titles today. Viz Media is publishing it in English. After the Shibuya Incident ended, the JJK anime announced a sequel: The Culling Games Arc.
