Feeling outraged by the tragic deaths of Eso and Kechizu, Choso vows to kill Yuji and Nobara. He joined a group of villains in Shibuya with only revenge in mind. He has absolutely no interest in fighting Gojo, but that’s not the case with Yuji.
As soon as Choso saw Yuji, he attacked him mercilessly, so much so that even someone as strong as Yuji was easily defeated. However, Choso vs Yuji takes an unexpected turn when Choso sees memories of Yuji and his siblings together. And yet, there is no evidence in the Jujutsu Kaisen anime that the two completely different beings are actually brothers.
Choso is a Cursed Womb: Painting of Death, while Yuji is a normal human – at least, that’s what the anime wants you to believe. Although it’s a bit hard to believe, Choso and Yuji share a common connection, which is why Choso does everything in his power to help his younger brother. Warning: This article contains spoilers from manga Jujutsu Kaisen!
Why does Choso believe Yuji is his younger brother in Jujutsu Kaisen
The memory of his siblings having a sweet time together (with Yuji being one of them) is actually fake. Somehow, Choso could sense the transformation of his siblings. He saw Yuji’s death from his eyes and realized they were brothers.
Feeling overwhelmed, Choso left the scene and appeared inside Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Episode 22. He constantly calls Yuji his younger brother and vows to protect him. Not only that, Choso also realized that Pseudo-Geto was actually Noritoshi Kamo, a stain on the Kamo clan, who lived more than one hundred and fifty years ago.
Despite having different origins and being born in different time periods, Choso and Yuji could be considered half-brothers – but not in the usual way. Kenjaku, who currently controls Geto’s body, is an ancient curse user who has survived for over a thousand years thanks to his techniques.
He can switch bodies by transferring his brain and absorbing his host’s techniques. About 150 years ago, he possessed Noritoshi Kamo’s body and used Choso’s mother to give birth to him and the rest of his siblings.
Several years ago, he possessed Kaori Itadori and gave birth to Yuji for unknown reasons. Therefore, even though Choso and Yuji are not related by blood, it is not wrong to consider them as brothers. Choso, being the eldest, always loves all of his siblings, and main character JJK is no exception.
