The first five episodes of Jujutsu’s Kaisen Season 2 has been a huge success from the perspective of fans everywhere, and now, just recently, the much-anticipated Shibuya Incident has arrived, now with an official air date. Whether or not anime viewers have read the manga, they won’t want to miss the chance to watch one of Jujutsu’s Kaisen’s fiercest arcs — and that’s definitely saying something.
On the official Jujutsu Kaisen English X Account, just before 5 p.m. EST, a promotional image of the arc that Jujutsu Kaisen had just completed was posted with additional information. It informs fans that for the next few weeks there will be no Jujutsu Kaisen episodes as the team prepares for the start of the much-awaited Shibuya Incident Arc. The official release date of this season was also announced as August 31, when the group will return with the 6th episode of season 2.
The Shibuya Incident Arc is about to begin, and it will take Jujutsu Kaisen to the next level
The first season of season 2 sees viewers go back in time to Gojo Satoru’s school days, with students Geto Suguru and Ieiri Shoko, and the events that culminate in Geto’s transition from hero to villain. After the death of Haibara Yu and a quest that sees Geto’s growing frustration with non-witch members of society, Geto uses his abilities to kill over 100 non-witches. witch in the village he has assigned. This and the murder of his parents are his first big step towards his goal of eliminating the existence of non-witches.
The end of volume 5 of Season 2 reinforces the beginning of the so-called Shibuya Incident, which spans nearly 60 chapters in the manga. This special is filled with explosive battles and some key revelations that viewers can expect to see come to life in the stunning animation we’ve seen from the Jujutsu Kaisen anime so far. Jujutsu Kaisen’s anime is largely a faithful adaptation of the manga except for a few key differences, so fans can expect this to continue as we move towards this tumultuous arc.
Based on the final scene of Season 2, Episode 5, where Gojo wakes up in the present only to be immediately scolded by Yuji, Megumi, and Nobara, fans can expect things to speed up in no time. Anime-only fans who feel the need to sneak a peek at what Shibuya Incident has to offer may want to pick up this manga, starting at chapter #79. On the other hand, perhaps the best of the war between sorcerers and cursed spirits, the Shibuya Incident, begins with the return of Jujutsu Kaisen on August 31st.
