Summary
Sukuna’s new form in Jujutsu Kaisen is extremely terrifying, as he now has complete control over Megumi and can use his cursed technique. Sukuna’s new vessel allows him to transform his head into a giant mouth and attempt to devour his enemies, displaying his full potential as a villain. To defeat Sukuna’s new, more powerful form, the heroes may have to kill Megumi, which could lead to a permanent loss for the series.
Warning! Contains spoilers for the final arc of Jujutsu Kaisen! As it enters what appears to be its final arc, Jujutsu Kaisen Reveals a new form for tribe, that’s really scary. While the manga features various main villains including the body-jumping wizard Kenjaku, Sukuna is always considered the ultimate villain of the story. And now mangaka Gege Akutami is proving the reason for this.
In chapter 212, Sukuna controlled Itadori’s body to transfer himself into Megumi’s body. But chapter 213 reveals the terrible consequences of this transfer. Because Megumi’s soul was broken upon seeing her sister possessed by another ancient witch, Sukuna had full control over him, unlike Itadori. Additionally, since Megumi has a cursed technique, Sukuna can use this technique on himself in Jujutsu Kaisen, which he does by summoning a giant version of Nue.
While all of this represents a terrifying power for Sukuna, the most horrifying aspect about his new vessel is revealed at the end of the chapter. After Hana tried to purge him from Megumi’s body, he pretended that her plot only worked to get close to her and turned his head into a giant mouth in an attempt to eat her. This board is one of the scariest in the entire series and shows the full potential of Sukuna’s new form.
Sukuna’s new form proves he is Jujutsu Kaisen’s most fearsome villain
While trapped in Itadori’s body, Sukuna remained extremely powerful but his actions were limited. He cannot control Yuji at will, and even the binding oath Sukuna gave allowing him to control Yuji’s body in Jujutsu Kaisen comes with limitations. However, whenever he takes full control, he shows why he is considered one of the strongest characters in the series. When he took control of Yuji during the Shibuya Incident, he destroyed other powerful curses such as Jogo with ease and even defeated Megumi’s ultimate summon, Mahoraga.
As strong as Sukuna was when he was imprisoned within Yuji, he is even stronger now, he may be the strongest enemy in the series. If he could transform his entire body like he did in the previous game, he could also have powers like Mahito, one of Jujutsu Kaisen’s best villains. On top of that, in Megumi’s body, he can also use the Ten Shadows Cursed Technique. Perhaps the scariest implication of his new body, though, is that to defeat him, Yuji and his allies will likely have to kill Megumi.
Sukuna’s possession of Megumi is a bad omen for the heroes of Jujutsu Kaisen
In recent chapters, Sukuna was forced to transform into her original form from the Heian period, leaving Megumi’s physical condition unclear. The Curse King can simply leave Megumi’s Ten Shadows technique inactive to recharge for later battle. If he can bring Mahoraga back to fight the witches currently fighting him, it will make things much more difficult for Jujutsu Kaisen’s main characters. However, Megumi’s body and soul can also be permanently destroyed by this new form.
Jujutsu Kaisen is no stranger to killing off some of its most famous characters, so the possibility of Megumi’s death is high. But to defeat Sukuna’s new, more powerful form and stop him from carrying out his evil plans was a worthy sacrifice. No matter how the heroes fail tribeHis new form is a sign that the manga’s end game will likely be the most brutal and wild of the manga yet. Jujutsu Kaisen hitherto.
