What happened in Jujutsu Kaisen Part 2, Volume 1?
The first episode of the second season of Jujutsu Kaisen introduced the premise of the arc, going back to Gojo and Geto’s high school days. The episode actually opens with an original trailer of the anime not found in Jujutsu Kaisen’s manga, showing Mei Mei and Utahime trying to exorcise a cursed spirit in a mansion. From there, however, the episode largely sticks to its source material, introducing a special mission for Gojo and Geto to protect Riko Amanai, the vessel containing the stellar plasma that will merge with the undead wizard Tengen. The episode ends with Gojo and Geto interrupting Riko’s attempt at life and introducing the mysterious new character Toji Fushiguro.
Jujutsu Kaisen Part 2, Volume 2 will introduce more about Riko
The second episode of Season 2 will likely see Gojo and Geto battling Q assassins trying to kill Riko. However, given the power levels of Gojo and Geto, chances are this fight won’t take up the entire episode, giving plenty of time to explore the new characters introduced in the previous episode. Given how mysterious Fushiguro is and his potential connection to Megumi, Jujutsu Kaisen probably won’t reveal too much about him. However, this would be the perfect time to show viewers what kind of person Riko is and how Gojo and Geto will get along with the girl they’re protecting.
This also potentially helps Gojo and Geto understand exactly what their mission requires of them. This quest will likely completely change the way they see the world, as both Gojo and Geto have very different philosophies in this flashback than they do now. Given Geto’s narration kicks off the season, this could offer another hint of how the character is turning away from his heroic roots to become one of the main antagonists of Jujutsu Kaisen. However, whatever the second volume includes, if it holds up to a high standard of Jujutsu KaisenIn the film’s first premiere, it’s sure to be another visual bonus that will provide further proof that the series is one of the best anime of the season.
Jujutsu Kaisen Part 2 available to stream on Crunchyroll.
