With Jujutsu Kaisen only a few chapters away from its conclusion, Shonen Jump fans are increasingly eager to see leaks of the latest chapters. A talented artist has tricked the Jujutsu Kaisen fandom with fake chapter leaks that look like they were drawn by the series' author Gege Akutami.
A social media user on X (formerly Twitter) who goes by the name @/cpasDryNa uploaded “leaks” for Chapter 267 of the Jujutsu Kaisen manga. However, these leaks—while they appear to be surprisingly accurate—are not legitimate scans of the popular Shonen Jump manga. Instead, they are illustrations that closely resemble Akutami’s artwork. With the huge amount of attention being paid to Jujutsu Kaisen following the surprise announcement that the manga would end in September, many fans on X were fooled by what appeared to be the truth—especially since these leaks gave fans exactly what they expected.
Jujutsu Kaisen New Chapter Fake Release Has 8 Year Time Shift
Multiple fake leaks uploaded by @/cpasDryNa humorously suggest that the series suddenly skips eight years into the future, where Yuta Okkotsu is accompanying Yuji Itadori on his first day as a teacher. This scenario, as optimistic as it is, sounds very familiar to another popular Shonen Jump series that recently ended. Another fake illustration shows Ryomen Sukuna, the King of Curses, being dragged into hell by his victims while declaring revenge on Yuji. Again, this scene takes a lot of inspiration from a critically acclaimed action series. As fans have noted online, Sukuna's finger pose is inspired by Edward Elric from the hugely popular Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood.
While most of the fake Chapter 267 leaks are laughably absurd, one has accurately predicted a shocking development in the series. While the actual scene differs from the fan artist's interpretation, the differences between the two are minimal. The official English release of Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 267 is set for Sunday, August 25, 2024. Out of respect for the official English licensee and because readers want to avoid spoilers until the release date, this shocking development will not be revealed. The good news for eager readers is that the official release date for Chapter 267 is near.
The incredible popularity of Jujutsu Kaisen isn't limited to the series itself. A popular fan account on X has gone as far as to surpass Mr. Beast and Joe Biden, the 46th President of the United States, with breaking news about the Jujutsu Kaisen anime and manga. The anime was also declared the most requested anime of 2023 by Guinness World Records. Additionally, McDonald's recently partnered with Jujutsu Kaisen to create a black garlic-flavored dipping sauce based on the series' most popular characters, including the evil yet charismatic Sukuna.
New and previous chapters of Jujutsu Kaisen are available to read on Viz Media and the Manga Plus app. The Jujutsu Kaisen television anime series is also available to stream on Crunchyroll, Hulu, and Netflix.
