The fierce battle between Gojo and Sukuna has come to an end, and we have lost fan-favorite character Gojo forever. However, we feel that if Mahoraga was not in the movie, the fight between Sukuna and Gojo would have lasted longer. Yes, we know Sukuna is the strongest curse in existence, but we also cannot doubt the power and abilities of the strongest witch.
Gojo has been in a difficult position both in the anime series and the ongoing manga. In the former, Gojo is seen sealed away in the prison world, while the latter shows him being brutally killed.
So do you want to know how powerful the Shikigami that killed the main character’s mentor in the manga was? If so, please bear with us as we dive deeper into the details.
Jujutsu Kaisen: Mahoraga’s powers and abilities explained
The Zenin clan in the world of Jujutsu Kaisen is said to have 10 shadow techniques. This technique is one of the most dangerous in the world as it gives the user the ability to summon a powerful shikigami and use it in any battle on their behalf.
Mahoraga is considered the most dangerous and difficult to control shikigami originating from the above system.
Whenever the user wants to summon Mahoraga, they must chant, “With this treasure, I summon…” by making a hand sign and then raising their hand to the sky. Then, out of nowhere, humanoid monsters started appearing.
His big appearance is good enough to reveal his strengths. Additionally, it cannot be completely under one person’s control and that is one of the reasons why it is not summoned often by the Zenin family. In fact, Mahoraga’s potential even causes fear in its summoner, although this is not the case with Sukuna.
What makes Mahoraga so powerful?
Mahoraga has two things that make him invincible: one is an eight-armed wheel floating above his head, and the second is a blade on his forearm, specifically called the Sword of Destruction.
Whenever an opponent launches an attack at Mahoraga, the wheel on his head will spin, allowing it to adapt to the phenomena used on him. Essentially, this ability allows Mahoraga to adapt when its legs are in battle. The more it attacks, the more it adapts. By doing so, it creates a final strategy or rather a blueprint to counter even the strongest move or territorial expansion of the enemy. That’s what it did when fighting against Gojo.
He gains strength to defend against further attacks from the same enemy. On the other hand, the Sword of Destruction is a sharp blade embedded in his arm with positive energy, making it even more powerful against all forms of Cursed Souls.
Apparently, Mahoraga also boasts incredible physical strength. One of his attacks will send even the strongest people miles away. So it’s understandable why it would prove to be such a formidable opponent against our beloved Gojo.
