The Shibuya Incident arc of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 is getting more intense than ever. The situation looks dire when the strongest wizard alive falls into an enemy’s trap and is sealed inside the Prison Realm.
The episode begins with the manga fan-favorite addition from chapter 88, where the other characters answer a question, “What is Satoru Gojo to you?” We then see Gojo go all out against the curses.
Gege Akutami always shares a message after training Jujutsu Kaisen aired. This time, he suddenly praised Gojo, which is a bit unusual for the author.
Gege Akutami shares his thoughts on Gojo in Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Episode 9
The entire episode revolves around Gojo, where he first fights the curses, kills Hanami and then meets Suguru Geto – only to learn about the impostor. Gege always praises the work of animators, and this week is no exception. MAPPA holds nothing back to deliver the scariest version of Gojo yet.

Gege expressed his excitement: “Thank you for Season 2, Episode 9. Gojo is much cooler and scarier than in the manga!! The moment Jogo walked out of the smoke and his arm grew back was so cool that I actually laughed. And the lip sync was perfect. I was so excited!”
Rarely does Gege praise anything Gojo related. He always jokes around whenever something bad happens to him in the manga. Also, before that, his thoughts on Episode 5 (end of the flashback) were really salty when it came to Gojo. He praised everything about the episode but then went ahead and called him a “mob character.”
The animators had to hand-draw and recreate the manga frames in the best way possible. As one of Japan’s best animation studios, MAPPA’s work is highly appreciated. Gege has been extremely supportive of the studio’s hard work since Season 2 began. He also expressed support for the change in art style as people debated whether it was the right decision or not.
