Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Episode 18 focuses on Nanami’s death in the first half, while the second half features Yuji fighting Mahito. After witnessing Nanami being blown to pieces, Yuji was furious and disappointed.
He reached his breaking point after Sukuna destroyed the entire Shibuya ward. To make matters worse, Yuji also lost Nanami just a few minutes later. Mahito took advantage of his pain and tried to break his spirit during the fight.
Like most episodes of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2, this week also features some anime-only scenes. However, one of those scenes completely shocked fans with how strange it was.
Jujutsu Kaisen fans were shocked by strange details in the Anime
Yuji vs. Mahito has some details that are unique to the anime, but one that caught Jujutsu Kaisen fans’ attention was the moment Mahito leaned in to kiss Yuji, but his mouth quickly turned into a blade and crashed into the wall. Of course, his mouth should have stabbed Yuji, but Yuji luckily missed. Mahito’s cursed technique allows him to control his own body shape as well as others.
Naturally, fans were shocked by this detail and posted about it on social networks. They were basically joking about a scene they had never seen in the manga. One user shared: “Mahito saw the hurt that Sukuna left on Yuji and decided to take advantage of him by trying to kiss Yuji.”
Another user’s comment read: “Mahito has one of the most creative fighting styles, what he does is unique, especially when he tried to kiss Yuji.”
One fan even joked about Yuta Okkotsu, who cursed Yuta in the manga: “If this happens to Yuta, maybe he will kiss Mahito again LOL.”
Another user joked: “Mahito really tried to cheer Yuji up with a kiss, I mean a jab, eyes closed and everything. What a threat.”
Needless to say, the fight itself was very elaborately choreographed anime Jujutsu Kaisen, as one fan shared: “I think I’ve watched this scene about 20 times now and I still can’t believe how perfect the dubbing is. First, Yuji’s scream and then the way Mahito shouted “ITADORI YUUUJII” were perfect.”
