Fans of “Jujutsu Kaisen” have been holding their breath since Nobara Kugisaki’s brutal battle against Mahito. The battle left Nobara severely injured, and many readers still held out hope for her return. That hope has now been dashed.
The battle with Mahito was a showcase of Nobara's skill and determination. Facing one of the most formidable villains in the series, Nobara showed her growth as a Jujutsu wizard.
She uses her Straw Doll technique with cunning and precision, even managing to damage the seemingly invulnerable Mahito.
However, the battle turned fierce. Mahito, with his ability to control spirit forms, launched a devastating attack and Nobara's face was partially destroyed by Mahito's Idle Transformation technique.
Despite Nobaro being severely injured, fans have never received official confirmation (until now) of Nobara's fate. Many have held out hope that they will be able to see Nobara in a future storyline.
However, Gege Akutami, author of “Jujutsu Kaisen,” recently shocked a comic exhibition in Japan. Akutami confirmed that Nobara will never return.
The author's decision was not a recent one. Akutami had planned to kill both Nobara and Nanami in the Shibuya arc even before it started in the manga.
In the same interview, Akutami also confirmed that Satoru Gojo, another fan-favorite character, will not be returning.
For fans, the news is bittersweet. While it leaves beloved characters behind, it also cements the series' reputation for bold storytelling choices.
