It has been announced that a large-scale exhibition, ”Akutami Gege’Jujutsu Kaisen’ Exhibition,” revealing the “Creation Secrets” of the manga “Jujutsu Kaisen,” will be held at the Hikarie Hall in Shibuya Hikarie , Tokyo, from July 6 to August 27. Along with this announcement, key images drawn specifically for this exhibition will be unveiled for the first time, and ticket details have also been announced .
“Jujutsu Kaisen” is a Dark Fantasy Manga serialized in “Weekly Shonen Jump” since 2018, authored by Akutami Gege. The film depicts the story of Itadori Yuji, a high school student who enters the world of battles surrounding curses after the seal of a powerful “cursed object” is broken. As of January 4, 2024, the series has surpassed 90 million copies in circulation, including digital versions, with 25 volumes having been released.
The series has also been adapted into an anime, with the first season airing from October 2020 to March 2021. The movie “Jujutsu Kaisen 0,” released in December 2021, recorded huge success. with a worldwide box office gross of 26.5 billion yen, causing a major movement. In addition, the second season of the TV series airing from July 2023 also received many compliments for its quality.
The upcoming “Akutami Gege’Jujutsu Kaisen’” exhibition will showcase the series’ creation process digitally, accompanied by explanations from the author. Visitors will have the opportunity to see how the story, characters and various illustrations are created, developed and reach new heights. The exhibition will also widely display valuable manuscripts and sketches before they become finished manuscripts, creating a highlight for the event.
Tickets to the exhibition will be sold on the specified date and time. The sale will be divided into three phases: “Pre-Launch Sale”, “Early Phase” and “Late Phase”, with some dates possibly being drawn in advance. “Pre-launch” tickets, which provide the quickest access to the exhibition, will start receiving lottery tickets from 10 a.m. on April 6.
