Summary
Purple Haze is known to be one of the most dangerous Stands in the series, creating a virus so dangerous that even the user cannot use it. The Wonder of U is a terrifying, sentient Stand that can control Calamity, a type of negative energy associated with fate. C-Moon evolves into Made in Heaven, capable of accelerating time by amazingly manipulating gravity; it is the main force that causes the main universe to restart over and over again.
Since their introduction in Stardust Crusaders, Stands have represented several Jojo’s Bizarre Adventurethe scariest threats. As an expression of the user’s “fighting spirit”, the term “Stand” comes from the way most of these characters appear standing next to the user.
Individuals can be born with their Stands, such as in the case of the Joestar family, or they can awaken them through other means, such as Arrow. These powers are not limited to humans, as animals such as Iggy and Coco Jumbo are shown to possess quite powerful abilities. Since Stands represent a person’s psyche, their appearance and abilities will reflect the user’s characteristics, and they can take on both humanoid and irregular forms. Some of these creatures are especially memorable because of how terrifying they arethis raises the question of how dark the user’s spirit must be.
10 Milagroman – JoJolion
User: Zeihei Nigatake
What makes Milagroman so scary is how it lures its victims with a false sense of security. The Stand is a mysterious figure said to have awakened after an arms dealer lost his fortune and killed his entire family. It can create and duplicate money, but when it targets someone, it will keep giving them money until they are crushed or suffocated by a mountain of cash. The only way to escape this “curse” is to return the money to the old owner or let the new person destroy it, thereby making them a new victim. Stands will also continue to exist after the user passes away.
9 Limp Bizkit – Duong Rock
User: Sports Maxx
Limp Bizkit is a terrifying Stand capable of turning corpses into zombies and giving the undead new enhanced abilities. Since the stand has no physical appearance, zombies are invisible, but they can be seen when covered in substances, such as blood. This is one of the few Stands in the series to survive the user’s death, but through an exception to the rule, it can be controlled by undead users, allowing them to speak and act like a living person. Limp Bizkit’s appearance in Stone Ocean is something straight out of a horror movie, made even more disturbing by the fact that the user, Sports Maxx is even more violent in death than in life.
8 Purple Mist – Golden Wind
User: Pannacotta Fugo
Purple Haze’s destructive potential is so great that even its users hesitate to use it. Stand has three capsules in each hand containing an incurable flesh-eating virus capable of killing an adult in 30 seconds. No one is safe from its effects, not even Fugo himself, with whom the audience shares his erratic behavior and short temper. Purple Haze’s violent nature makes it prone to rage and obsessive about cleanliness, causing it to emit an unpleasant, irritating sound. While there are some limitations to its power, such as sunlight and the right antibodies, it is still a formidable Stand with the still evolving virus.

The characters in Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure can have a wide variety of abilities, some of which are much more powerful than others. Still, Five Stands stands head and shoulders above the rest.
7 Ice Cream – Stardust Crusaders
User: Vanilla ice
Cream’s appearance is completely based on Death’s perception. Its real fear factor, however, comes with its ability to devour itself and create a portal into a void-like dimension. The Stand is dangerous to anyone within range, including its user, who only survives while in the empty dimension. If this isn’t scary enough, The cream is practically undetectable from the outside and can turn everything into nothing. In Stardust Crusaders, the group suffered the most losses while fighting Vanilla Ice, as Avdol was immediately sucked into the portal and Iggy died while protecting his friends from the void. Polnareff was only able to discover the gate by spreading sand and following its tracks through the room.
6 Grateful Dead – Golden Wind
User: Prosciutto
The Grateful Dead has a nightmarish appearance with multiple eyes and a floating body that forces it to move by hand. It also boasts a terrible ability that causes anyone within this range to age rapidly depending on their body temperature. This phenomenon spreads to both body and mind, reducing the victim’s cognitive ability and physical function. If used over a large area, the Stand will attack both friend and foe, making it especially dangerous to the user’s allies. Although the effect can be counteracted by cold and other close range stands, The Grateful Dead’s abilities are terrifying in a world where aging is often viewed as negative.
5 Rolling Stones – Golden Wind
User: Scolippi
Unlike most other Stands, Rolling Stones operate automatically and cannot be controlled by the user. It is both cruel and merciful as it predicts its target’s death and relentlessly tracks them, but also gives them the option to die in peace. The Stand’s most cruel quality, however, is the way it shows its target exactly how they will die without telling them when it will happen. This leaves the victim feeling scared and uncertain about their ultimate death. In Golden Wind, the stone takes the form of Bucciarati, and, unbeknownst to the group, also shows the deaths of Abacchio and Narancia. Because the Rolling Stones are driven by fate, their target’s death is inevitable.
4 Death Thirteen – Stardust Crusaders
User: Mannish Boy
Death Thirteen attacks people in their dreams, turning the Stand into a literal nightmare. It’s unique in that Death Thirteen exists only in dreams, luring defenseless victims while the user, a baby, evades suspicion in the real world. When a creature falls asleep near the user, they are pulled into a carnival-like world, over which Death Thirteen has complete control. It’s worth noting that the victim cannot summon their Stand in this world, and any wounds they receive will be reflected in reality. As Kakyoin pointed out, the only way to defeat it is to activate Stand before falling asleep. However, this is difficult to do when the victim does not remember what happened.
3 Prison Locks – Duong Rock
User: Miuccia Miuller
The prison lock is activated on anyone attempting to escape from the Green Dolphin Street Jail. Jailhouse Lock inflicts a form of psychological torture on victims by only allowing them to retain three pieces of information and make them forget previous information if given a fourth idea. While they retain memories from before being “locked up”, the victim will suffer severe memory loss and will eventually lose the ability to think. The “rule of three” also applies to people, where they can only be aware of three people at a time. The Stand’s ability to trap targets in a mental prison, destroying them psychologically, makes it truly terrifying.

2 Wonders Of U – JoJolion
User: Tooru
As a sentient Stand that operates independently of its user, Wonder of U is the very definition of doom. In JoJolion, it takes on human form so Tooru lives a double life. The Stand’s main ability allows it to control Calamity, an inescapable negative force. If someone shows pursuit towards the user, including the intention or desire to pursue, they will be affected by the Calamity and suffer misfortune. The Stand’s abilities can also activate on anyone who sees the back of its human form. Because it follows the laws of fate, the misfortunes that people suffer depend on their karma. Once locked on a target, Wonder of U even turns the entire universe against its victim.
1 C-Moon/Made in Heaven – Duong Rock
User: Enrico Pucci
C-Moon and Made in Heaven are different forms of Stand used by Enrico Pucci. C-Moon can control the direction of gravity and becomes more dangerous after evolving into Made in Heaven and has the ability to accelerate time using gravity. Considered by Pucci as the final piece to reach “paradise”, Stand causes the universe to “reset” according to a cyclical time model. Creatures reincarnated in subsequent universes will have the same fate as their predecessors, like Emporio Alnino, who was forced to live through many cycles of reincarnation after losing everyone. The Stand erases Pucci from existence after he is defeated during the universe’s reset, causing it to become The most nightmare stand in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure.
