New key art and main PV trailer have been revealed for the upcoming anime television series Jiisan Baasan Wakagaeru, scheduled to premiere on April 7, 2024.
The image highlights the main content of the series, where the characters collect apples together.

Meanwhile, the main trailer introduces major plot points of the anime story, as well as the opening theme “Kimi ga Ojiichan, Atashi ga Obaachan” by singer-songwriter Koresawa and the ending theme “Soitoge YO-YO !!” by main character voice actors Shinichiro Miki and Mamiko Noto.

The trailer also highlights three new voice actor additions including Mino’s classmate, father, and mother: Junta Terashima as Shota, Kazuyuki Okitsu as Yoshiaki, and Tomo Sakurai as Kaede.
They join the main cast which includes:
• Shinichiro Miki as Shozo Saito • Mamiko Noto as Ine Saito • Shiori Mikami as Mino Saito • Nao Touyama as Shiori Saito
Masayoshi Nishita (Allison and Lillia, Eyeshield 21) is directing the anime series, with Yukie SUGAwara (Unwanted Immortal Adventurer) writing the series, Nagisa Takahashi (TenPuru co-designer) serving as designer character and Tomoki Hasegawa is the composer. Gekkou in charge of animation production.

The anime adaptation is based on the manga by Kagiri Araido, which was first released on Araido’s Twitter and Pixiv accounts on October 26, 2019. It was later serialized in Media Factory’s Monthly Comic Aruna magazine on October 1, 2019. July 13, 2022. The series is published under Media Factory’s MFC label and MF Comics imprint. Seven tankoubon volumes have been released as of August 2023.
Jiisan Baasan Wakagaeru revolves around an elderly couple living a quiet life in Aomori harvesting apples. One day, they wake up and find themselves back in their 20s.
