Four new cast members have been announced to join the upcoming second season of Ishura, which will begin airing in Japan in January 2025.
New cast members for the second season include:
• Yurika Kubo as Tu the Magic • Hiroaki Hirata as Ozonezma the Capricious • Wataru Takagi as Zigita Zogi the Thousandth • Kappei Yamaguchi as Krafnir the Hatch of Truth
They join the main voice cast including:
• Yuki Kaji as Soujiro the Willow-Sword • Reina Ueda as Yuno the Distant Talon • Aoi Yuki as Kia the World Word • Mamiko Noto as Elea the Red Tag • Jun Fukuyama as Alus the Star Runner • Romi Park as as Taren the Punished • Koichi Yamadera as Shalk the Sound Slicer • Miku Ito as Cuneigh the Wanderer • Rikiya Koyama as Mele the Horizon's Roar
Takeo Takahashi (Wasteful Days of High School Girls) will star as the series' main director, with Yuki Ogawa (Mieruko-chan) as director, Kenta Ihara (The Marginal Service) as series writer and screenwriter, Yoko Kikuchi (Kuroko's Basket) and Yuka Takashina (Inari, Konkon, Koi Iroha) are the character designers, and Masahiro Tokuda (Platinum End) is the composer. Passione is the animation production company for the series, with Sanzigen providing CG animation support.
Other staff working on the film include Kazuo Ogura (Attack on Titan Finale) and Yuki Hatakeyama (The Tunnel to Summer, the Exit of Goodbyes) as art directors, Seiji Handa (Yu-Gi -Oh: Arc-V's main monster designer) and Hiroya Iijima (Malinger-Z:Infinity character designer) are the monster designers, and Kanta Suzuki (Regalia: The Three Sacred Stars) is the mechanical design. Takuya Asaoka (immoral Guild director), Fujiaki Asari (Love Flops), Takahiro Majima (Mieruko-chan) and Hironori Aoyagi (Harem in the Labyrinth of Another World) are serving as assistant directors.
Hulu is the assistant director.
Ishura is currently streaming in the US and on Disney+ in select English-speaking countries and territories.

The series originally began as a web novel by Keiso and began serialization in Kakuyomu and Shosetsuka ni Naro on June 30, 2017. It was later published by ASCII Media as a light series. novel with illustrations by Kureta on September 17, 2019, published under the Dengeki no Shinbungei label. Nine volumes have been released as of February 2024. These light novels are also the first ranked titles in the novel/tankobon category of This Light Novel is Amazing 2021.
The light novels also inspired Meguri's manga adaptation on March 5, 2021 which is currently being serialized in Kodansha's Monthly Shonen Magazine.
Yen Press released the Ishura light novel series in English, the main summary description is:
In a world where the Demon King is dead, a series of demigods capable of taking him down have inherited the world. A master swordsman can find a way to defeat an opponent with just a look; a spearman so fast he can break the sound barrier; a wyvern rogue who fights with three legendary weapons at once; an omnipotent wizard who can turn thoughts into reality; an angelic assassin that causes instant death. Eager to achieve the title of “True Hero,” each of these champions pursues challenges against formidable enemies and causes conflict between them.
