Anime ISEKAI Suicide Squad by WIT Studio and Warner Bros. Japan revealed in a special broadcast today. Takehito Koyasu narrated the broadcast, which revealed a new teaser trailer, main cast, and a 2024 release date. The ISEKAI Suicide Squad anime was announced at this year’s Anime Expo.
Tomoyasu Hotel will perform the opening theme song “Another World,” which appears in the new trailer along with the main cast, including:
- Harley Quinn – Anna Nagase
- Joker – Yuichiro Umehara
- Deadshot Reigo Yamaguchi
- Mediator – Takehito Koyasu
- Clay Face – Jun Fukuyama
- King Shark – Kimura Subaru
Eri Osada will direct the film while Naoto Hosoda will be in charge of character design. Tappei Nagatsuki and Eiji Umehara will handle the script. Kenichiro Suehiro is composing music. Akira Amano (known for REBORN!) designed the original characters. The ISEKAI Suicide Squad anime is an original story featuring many characters from the DC universe.
Suicide Squad is a comic book series by DC Comics modernized by John Ostrander after the characters from the series first appeared in The Brave and The Bold comics from the 1950s. The comic series has been adapted into two films (2016 and 2021).
