The new anime series “Go! Go! The cavalry lost!” brings a breath of fresh air to the classic Super Sentai and Power Rangers genres. With its subversive plot and mature themes, the anime seems like it could be described as “The Boys meets Power Rangers.”
Although some big names like Demon Slayer and My Hero AcadeKaren have yet to air this season, the spring anime season is now in full swing and this season offers anime viewers a lot of unique anime choices. From a baseball anime comes a never-before-seen trope in the isekai genre, reborn as Goblin.
Go ahead! Go! The ranger lost! is another series that anime fans should keep an eye on.

The film is set in a world where 13 years ago, an alien invasion force was quickly defeated in just one year. The only surviving invaders are the immortal grunts.
As part of the truce, these grunts are now forced to stage weekly invasions of Earth. Dragon Keepers, this world's version of Power Rangers, turned these invasions into an elaborate spectacle with advertising, merchandise, and widespread popularity.
However, underneath the shiny exterior lies a darker reality. The leader of the Dragon Keepers, Red Keeper, bears some striking similarities to Homelander from “The Boys.” Both are beloved celebrities and present themselves as noble heroes to the public. But in truth, they are narcissistic, violent and cruel, secretly committing terrible acts when unnoticed.
The Red Keeper despises the grunts of the aliens, derisively called “Dusters,” in the same way that Homelander views humans as inferior. The Keepers' cruelty made them enemies of Foot Soldier “D”, one of the grunts who sought revenge on their oppressors, similar to Billy Butcher's long-standing feud against Homelander and Vought. in “The Boys”.
While “Go Go Loser Ranger” appears to be a light action comedy on the surface, it clearly aims to deconstruct the Super Sentai archetype, showing how corrupt power and celebrity can be .
Animation studio Yoar Pictures, although relatively new, delivered impressive quality in the first episode, deftly balancing a dark tone with Sentai-style action and colorful humor.
The cast features both veteran and rookie voice talent, including the Red Keeper voiced by none other than Mr. Nakamura, the famous voice of Gojo Satoru from Jujutsu Kaisen. If you want to watch this series, Go Go Loser Ranger is only available on Disney Plus or Hulu.
