Fans of the GL I’m in Love With the Villainess light novel series will be enjoying a new side story manga this summer.
As detailed on Anime News Network, Comic Yuri Hime magazine recently announced that the popular light novel series will receive a four-chapter side story manga drawn by artist tsuke. This comedy series, Maid’s Kitchen, follows protagonist Rae and her friend Lene as they work together to prepare sweets for Rae’s lover, Claire Francois. Comic Yuri Hime magazine will publish the manga’s first chapter on June 16.

Written by Inori and illustrated by Hanagata, I’m In Love With the Villainess debuted on the self-publishing platform, Shosetsuka ni Naro in January 2018. Aichu Publishing picked up the series in February 2019 and publishes digital volumes under GL Bunko publishing house. . The story revolves around an office worker named Rei Oohashi, who finds herself mysteriously transported into the world of her favorite otome game, Revolution. Not only that, but she’s also trapped in the body of the game’s protagonist, Rae Taylor. In her new form, Rei finally comes face to face with her favorite character, Claire Francois, whom she loves dearly. Despite taking on the villain role, Rei is still determined to win Claire’s heart.
I’m in Love With the Villainess has received several additions and adaptations over the years. The manga artist, AONOSHIMO, adapted the series into a manga in June 2020. Inori also published a side story, She’s So Cheeky For a Commoner!, which recounts the events of the main series from an angle. Claire’s look. Inori published the story in serials on Shosetsuka ni Naro from May 2021 to October 2021. GL Bunko subsequently published it as a digital single volume in February 2022.
In addition to Maid’s Kitchen, I’m in Love With a Villainess is also getting an anime adaptation of Platinum Vision (Kono Oto Tomare!: Sounds of Life). Hideaki Oba (Yowamushi Pedal, Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai) is directing the series, while Ayumu Hisao (Kono Oto Tomare, Cardfight!! Vanguard G) is composing the series. Yu Serizawa (Rent-a Girlfriend) and Karin Nanami (Kakegurui) will play Rae Taylor and Claire Francois, respectively. Additional cast includes Aimi as Misha Jur, Minami Kurisaka as Pipi Barlier and Ikumi Hasegawa as Lene Aurousseau. The anime has a premiere window slated for some time in October.
