Tsuma anime adaptation Shougakusei ni Naru (If My Wife Becomes an Elementary School) has revealed a visual teaser ahead of its expected premiere this year. Studio Signpost (Kingdom) is producing the animation with Noriyuki Abe as director. The series is not officially licensed in English but the official website shows the English title as shown in the image below:
Sawako Hirabayashi is responsible for the series’ layout and script, while Narihito Sekikawa will handle the character designs. The anime adaptation of If My Wife Becomes an Elementary School was announced last March, along with the final volume of the manga. Yayu Murata’s manga released its final volume, volume 14, on March 16, 2023, ending a four-year run (it debuted in 2018, with the first volume released in April 2019). It is serialized in Houbunsha’s Weekly Manga Times magazine and has a total of 111 chapters.
The plot follows a single father whose wife dies, leaving him alone with their daughter. One day, he meets the reincarnation of his wife – but she is an elementary school student. The story explores loss and the complicated feelings of moving on after losing a loved one.
