Sawako Hirabayashi is in charge of writing and scripting the series, while Narihito Sekikawa will design the characters. The anime adaptation of If My Wife Becomes an Elementary School was announced last March, along with the final volume of the manga. Yayu Murata’s manga released its final volume, volume 14, on March 16, 2023, ending a four-year run (it debuted in 2018, with the first volume released in April 2019). It was serialized in Houbunsha’s Weekly Manga Times magazine and had a total of 111 chapters.
The plot follows a single father whose wife dies, leaving him alone with their daughter. One day, he meets the reincarnation of his wife – but she is an elementary school student. The story explores loss and the complicated feelings of moving on after losing a loved one.
