I've found that I like isekai spinoffs that give underdog characters another chance. After all, they're skilled and often overshadowed by the heroes. That's why the Fist of the North Star Amiba spinoff is so fun—it takes a relatively minor and seemingly unforgivable villain and gives them a new world where they can help but also solve their own problems.
That's why, if they do an Evangelion isekai, I'd want to see one about Jet Alone.
Technically, Jet Alone isn't even a character. It's a giant, nuclear-powered, radio-controlled robot that's meant to replace the Evangelions before it malfunctions and has to be retired. It turns out this was all part of a scheme by EVA's own organization, NERV, to eliminate the competition.
Jetpacks alone could be useful in protecting the planet, but they never stood a chance. But what if a robot was transported to another world and became its protector? You could even have someone remotely control it like Shoutarou in Tetsujin 28, fighting giant monsters or solving crimes or whatever.
Any setting could work: a magical world contrasted with Jet Alone technology, an alien invasion of a different kind, maybe even some kind of large-scale martial arts tournament.
At another time, I might be forced to turn this into more of a fanfic. Never say never, I guess.
PS: I stumbled upon this KGBlagden cartoon featuring Jet Alone to the tune of the Jet Jaguar theme from Godzilla. In a funny way, it gives some props to a strangely squashed machine.
