Foldabody is a Quirk that allows the user to ability to stretch and fold their bodies like paper or stringat the user's discretion. Edgeshot is famous for using this ability to make his entire body paper-thin to move quickly, attack opponents, or simply move through tight spaces. Edgeshot uses many ninja-inspired skills and attacks, earning him the nickname “Ninja Hero”. An example is his “Thousand Sheet Pierce” technique, in which Shinya turns himself into a sharp thread and pierces through an enemy, cutting off their blood flow to render them unconscious.
However, there is a limit to how much Edgeshot can change his physical form before his abilities start to damage him. After a certain point, Shinya's life force will start to be drained by his Quirk. This is further seen in episode 150 of the anime, where the No. 4 hero surpasses his limit to perform “Thousand Sheet Pierce: Zenith”.
He then used this new form sutured Bakugo's heart and chest woundscaused by an angry Shigaraki, and saved one of Japan's future guardians. This caused severe damage to Edgeshot, turning his body into a miniature version of himself, as seen in chapter 428 of the manga.

The scenes depicted by the animation studio were vivid, with alarming red colors to show the urgency of the situation.
The fluidity of the shot also helps the viewer understand better. The level of control Edgeshot has over his Quirkmoving as slowly and carefully as possible, to avoid injuring Katsuki further. The intricate movements of Shinya's Quirk in action not only perfectly encapsulate the severity of Bakugo's condition, but also give fans one of the most captivating moments in the entire anime series. This is one of the iconic moments from the original manga that the anime improved upon in many ways.
Side shot may not be among the most popular My Hero Academia character, but his contributions to the story are nothing to scoff at. The anime adaptation helped this underrated hero's best moments shine even brighter. By creating such an impressive scene, Bakugo's long-awaited return to the battlefield would have been that much more exciting and iconic.
