Manga enthusiasts will have something exciting to look forward to this summer thanks to the creator of Horimiya. Recently, Shogakukan's Weekly Big Comic Spirits announced a new series and Hiroki Adachi, also known as Hero, is at the helm. Hero, along with Imaru Adachi, is preparing to release a special short manga.
The upcoming three-chapter mini-series, titled The Light that Shines on Me is My Brother's Face, will be published from June 3 to 17 overseas. While specific details about the series are still scarce, it's clear that the story will embody themes of brotherhood and the complicated relationships between siblings.
For those unfamiliar with the creators, Hero rose to fame with Horimiya, a beloved high school romance. On the other hand, Imaru Adachi is known for overseeing the Kadokawa adaptation of Higehiro: After Being Rejected, I Shaved and Took in a High School Runaway.
Horimiya fans can enjoy the series in English with the support of Yen Press, and its popular anime adaptation is now available to stream on Crunchyroll. If you haven't seen Horimiya yet, here's a quick summary:
Horimiya tells the story of Kyouko Hori, a smart, attractive, and popular high school student, and her classmate Izumi Miyamura, who is often considered a gloomy, boring “failed fanboy.”
However, when the tattooed and pierced Miyamura suddenly appears at Hori's house, the two discover that each of them has many hidden sides. This sweet and touching story about school life emphasizes that people are often more than they think.
