The first 2 minutes of the first episode of High Card Season 2 (episode 13 overall) are now available on KADOKAWA Anime’s YouTube channel. High Card Season 2 is expected to premiere on January 8 at 20:00 (JST) in Japan and Crunchyroll will stream it overseas. See the preview here:
High Card Season 2 – Preview episode 1
The anime is part of the High Card multimedia project by Homura Kawamoto, Hikaru Mono and TMS. The first season of the anime television adaptation aired for 12 episodes from January to March 2023. Studio Hibari is producing the animation for the television anime while Junichi Wada is directing. Naoki Kuroyanagi is supervising the series composition and Ryo Takahashi is composing the music. FIVE NEW OLD will perform the opening song “Showdown” and Raon will sing the ending song “Daydream”. The cast of the first season will reprise their roles:

- Shun Horie as Leo Constantine Pinochle
- Haruka Shiraishi plays Wendy Sato
- Yuichiro Umehara as Vijay Kumar Singh

Additional cast was also recently announced, including Kaori Nazuka as Gao Wang, a player of the Klondike family, and Kensho Ono as Sonic Amigo, a player dressed in a superhero costume. High Card’s official website describes the plot of the television anime as follows:
After discovering that his orphanage is about to close due to financial strain, Finn, who has been living freely on the streets, goes to a casino with the aim of making money. However, nothing could prepare Finn for that nightmare. was waiting for him. Once there, Finn encounters a car chase and a bloody shootout caused by a man’s “lucky” card. Finn will eventually learn what the gunfight is about. The world order can be controlled by a set of 52 X-Playing cards with the power to bestow various superhuman powers and abilities on those who possess them.
