「弟と共に/傭兵団」 (Otouto to Tomo ni/Youheidan)
“Let’s go with my brother/Mercenary”
While the demands of professional life forced me to skip a week with Helck (and a few fall show trailers on the side—the joy of being called), I dare say it was the right time. for that. Besides fleshing out Helck’s backstory, we also get information about humanity’s recent past and also some very interesting ideas about what’s driving the current wave of heroic violence. And the best part? Haven’t even touched on the part that makes Helck an outcast.
Given the way fantasy stories go, I can’t say I was too shocked when Helck and Cless ended up as orphans who took full advantage of their luck and statistics at just the right time. can. It’s fitting in a way: it shows Helck’s humility, especially not as an act, it highlights why this guy is so good at some things (but not others other business), and also slyly reveals that yes, Helck is in fact a hero himself. Admittedly, that last part could have been guessed given the sheer power disparity between him and Vamirio, but like the rest of this series, it’s an answer to two questions. ask next. How did Helck get his heroic powers? Is it similar to Cless in rewarding struggle with abilities? Or did someone have a hand in rewarding both of them with an extremely powerful unlockable skill? Considering how the rest of humanity has fared so far, the answer to that might be more fruitful than you think.
Helck’s backstory isn’t all that revealing either – actually some more general history has shaken itself about Cless and his first duel with the Demon King. Like Helck’s heroic power, one important detail is missing: monsters appear everywhere, some are directly related to the monsters appearing throughout Vamirio’s homeland, and killing the Demon King does not stop their appearance. My personal bet is still that Karensma was given responsibility for it all in the first place, but that would then come down to who distributed the content and why; The human world for one is still bright and lush compared to the demon lands, if Karensma is involved then it will be applied deliberately and selectively. If true, that certainly suggests a different kind of mastermind at work, but given how Helck likes to spend his time, I don’t expect to learn more about that for a while.
After all, it remains to learn Helck supposedly killed his brother and ended up with the broken hero-killing sword of his mercenary friend Alicia. Something tells me that will prove to be an interesting experience.
