There are only a few days left until the 20th anniversary of Half-Life 2's appearance.
But until now, there has been no information from Valve indicating that the next part of the game will appear. Two decades ago, the main character G-Man left gamers with one of the most thrilling and thrilling journeys of all time. Since then, Half-Life Alyx has somewhat satisfied players' expectations, but the name Half-Life 3 is still what fans want the most.
However, Valve seems to no longer be too enthusiastic about this series that once helped them become famous. Since Gordon Freeman's last adventure, Valve has brought Counter-Strike 2, Deadlock and even some major updates to Team Fortress 2. Half-Life 3 seems to have remained silent. However, fans of this series should not be too sad.
Simply because recently, a version of Half-Life 3 just appeared on Steam.
Of course, it's not Valve's project. Instead, the game called Project Borealis is actually a fan-made version of the legendary Half-Life 2: Episode 3. Promising to launch in fall 2024, recently, Project Borealis: Prologue finally has its own Steam page. This means the game is closer to us than ever. The game will bring gamers back to one of Half-Life's most iconic locations: Ravenholm and more importantly, it is powered by Unreal Engine 5 – promising to deliver action-packed combat scenes and graphics. The most satisfying fight.
Valve itself did not show any opposition to this idea. This can be both sad and happy news for fans of the famous Half-Life series. Happy because at least there's a new game coming, but more sad because this move shows that Valve doesn't seem to care too much about Half-Life 3.
