Scheduled to premiere in Kodansha's Weekly Shonen Magazine and Bessatsu Shonen Magazine this summer, the project is conducting auditions from April 3 to 30, 2024 to find an artist would bring Isayama's storyboard vision to life in the manga's final artwork.
Aspiring artists can sign up through IMAGE DAY and can even check out the first five pages scripted by Isayama himself.
Yuki Kaji and Hajime Isayama have released statements expressing their excitement for the project. Take a look below:
Yuki Kaji commented:
This is a golden opportunity! Do not miss!! Let's change history together. “Soyogi Fractal” is a project that I have bet my life on. I entrusted the creation of the first original work to none other than the esteemed Hajime Isayama-sensei, believing 'there is no one else!' I am sincerely grateful to Isayama-sensei for his enthusiastic acceptance.
Hajime Isayama:
I joined this project at the invitation of Mr. Kaji. It's been about ten years since I drew a manga other than “Attack on Titan”, and I realized how difficult it is to draw manga again. However, since I'm not someone who actually draws, being able to come up with as many intricate layouts as I want and leave it to someone else is great.
