Haikyu movie!! Can I watch it alone?
Even though it's been four years since Haikyu was a huge success!! anime has ended, Haikyu!! Battle of the Dumpster spends very little time recounting past events, which is both good and bad. On the one hand, the relative lack of summary makes sense Haikyu!! Trash battle Trust your audience enough to still remember everything important or simply smart enough to piece things together as they watch the movie, the latter of which is entirely possible given the way things are presented. Plus how famous Haikyu is!! It is, and it makes sense that the film prioritizes telling its story simply.
On the other hand, the lack of a synopsis makes the film a bit difficult to access. Naturally, it's difficult to sell a movie like this to those who haven't seen or read Haikyu!!, but even for old fans of the series, Haikyu!! Trash battle can be confusing to anyone who forgets plot details and main characters, and with four years having passed since season 4, that could very well happen. That's not something that will ruin The Dumpster Battle, especially for older fans, but it's one of the few things that could hold it back.
With Haikyu of course!! The anime was recently released on Netflix, fans old and new have no reason not to catch up on this amazing show.
