Five new cast members and characters have been revealed for the upcoming Haigakura television anime, which will premiere in Japan in October 2024.
The five new cast members include:
• Daisuke Hirakawa as Sokomei • Daisuke Kishio as Ritekkai • Ryunosuke Watanuki as Kanshori • Shinnosuke Tachibana as Rakan • Kentaro Ito as Bui
They join the main voice cast including:
• Takeo Otsuka as Ichiyou • Kaito Ishikawa as Tenkou • Lynn as Hakushurin • Hiro Shimono as Ransaiwa • Satoshi Hino as Sonto • Rie Kugimiya as Kaka • Mutsumi Tamura as Ryu • Ayumu Murase as Heikan • Gakuto Kajiwara as Horyusei • Ryohei Kimura as Hiki • Ryota Suzuki as Sanu • Kazuhiko Inoue as Hakugo
Junichi Yamamoto (The Reason Why Raeliana Ended Up at the Duke's Mansion) will direct the anime, with Yu Murai (The Reason Why Raeliana Ended Up at the Duke's Mansion) as series writer, Masaki Sato (Record of Ragnarok) as character designer, and Yuki Kurihara (Blue Orchestra co-writer) as composer. Typhoon Graphics is in charge of animation production.
Haigakura is based on the fantasy manga series by Shinobu Takayama, serialized in Ichijinsha's Comic Zero Sum WARD magazine from January 16, 2008 to May 16, 2015. The series later moved to Zero-Sum Online on September 18, 2015, where it has been running since. Sixteen tankōbon volumes have been released as of August 2023.

The story takes place in a remote world called Senkai, where both gods and mortals reside. As the kingdom is on the brink of collapse, a young warrior poet named Ichiyo travels across the land to capture the gods who have spread throughout the kingdom, using a technique called Kessai. Together with his subordinate god Tenko, Ichiyo sets out on a quest to find four evil gods who hold the key to the kingdom's downfall.
